Pakse Destination

Pakse (means "mouth of the river Se" ) sits in the Southern laos, situated at the confluence of the xedone and mekong rivers. pakse is the capital city of champasack province and was also the former capital of the lao kingdom of champasak  from 1713–1946.

This small city is a mixture of thai, french and lao influences, and you can spend  two or three days  visiting its spectacular khmer ruins at Wat phu and Si phan Don.  here, you can go elephant trekking in Ban khiet ngong, see stunning waterfalls at the Bolaven plateau or get a glimpse into authentic, traditional laotian life on the islands of Don kho.
